R K Harrison has partnered with The Hague School, a small primary school based in Bethnal Green, east London, with about 200 students. Having initially been paired with the school via the Lloyd’s Community Programme, we will put all our efforts into looking for further ways of working with the school to help them offer the best possible experience to the children studying there.
As part of the Lloyd’s Community Programme numeracy and literacy schemes, we will aim for ten employees to visit the school each fortnight to support Year 6 children with their reading and maths skills. In addition to this, once a term ten of the Year 6 children will be invited to the RKH offices to see this part of London and get a taste of working in the City.
At the same time, we are looking to extend our partnership beyond this by offering help in other ways. At the moment this will include providing financial assistance, for example paying for coaches for school trips, and hosting the Year 6 children at the annual staff children’s Christmas party.
To find out more or to volunteer to become a literacy or a numeracy partner please contact Angela Webb (Ext 4422). If you’d like to raise money for the school, remember that R K Harrison will match donations up to £1,000.
