Team Highly Geared has broken cover to reveal details of their top secret training activities.
On Sunday Charlie Hickman put in a magnificent performance, cutting through the gusty winds to gracefully sail round the 100km Intermediate route in the Financial Times London Cycle Sportive. Total height climbed was 812 meters, including the 2012 Olympic climb at Box Hill.
Next Sunday Carl Ellerington, Natasha Whewell and Richard Coulson will be taking on the Castle Ride 100 for Action Medical Research for Children, having enlisted support from their RKH team-mate James Pryar who will be providing moral support and pace-making duties on the day. Natasha, James and Richard are going for the 113Km ‘Classic Route’ with 1000m of vertical climbing. Carl is taking on the gruelling 166Km ‘Champion Route’, complete with its 1700m of vertical assent.
Carl still insists that he has the staying power to complete every mile of the John O’Groats to London route in July – this weekend will be no walk in Richmond Park and so will be the toughest test of his resolve to date...
